Pauline Aase er en lyrisk sopran fra Kristiansand. Våren 2023 fullførte hun sin mastergrad i opera ved Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo (KHIO), hvor hun studerte under Toril Carlsen. Pauline begynte med musikaloppsetninger ved Kulturskolen i Kristiansand, men det var under bachelorstudiet i klassisk sang ved Universitetet i Agder (UiA) at interessen for opera for alvor tok form.
Gjennom studietiden har hun sunget roller som Despina i Così fan tutte, Antonia i Hoffmanns eventyr, Sandrina i La finta giardiniera og Anne Trulove i The Rake’s Progress. I sin masteravslutning ved KHIO fremførte hun utdrag fra tittelrollen i Manon av Jules Massenet.
Etter fullført utdanning har Pauline vært involvert i flere betydelige prosjekter. I 2024 sang hun rollen som Sophie De Palma i norgespremieren av Maria Callas: Masterclass av Terrence McNally under Vinterlysfestivalen i Mo i Rana, og samme år gjorde hun rollen som Rhoda i verdenspremieren av The Waves av Louis Mander under Oslo Operafestival.
Hun har samarbeidet med blant andre Foreningen Norden, Kristiansand Symfoniorkester, Kringkastingsorkestret (KORK) og Oslo-Filharmonien.
Pauline har mottatt stipender fra Tom Wilhelmsens Stiftelse, Sine Butenschøns Fond og Kulturrådet, og i 2024 ble hun tildelt Amalienborgprisen i Kristiansand.

Pauline Aase is a lyric soprano from Kristiansand, Norway. In the spring of 2023, she completed her master’s degree in opera at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHIO), where she studied under Toril Carlsen. Pauline’s musical journey began with musical theater productions at the Kristiansand School of Music and Performing Arts, but her passion for opera truly emerged during her bachelor’s studies in classical singing at the University of Agder (UiA).
During her studies, she performed roles such as Despina in Così fan tutte, Antonia in The Tales of Hoffmann, Sandrina in La finta giardiniera, and Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress. For her master’s graduation performance at KHIO, she presented excerpts from the title role in Manon by Jules Massenet.
Since completing her studies, Pauline has been involved in several notable projects. In 2024, she performed the role of Sophie De Palma in the Norwegian premiere of Maria Callas: Masterclass by Terrence McNally at the Vinterlys Festival in Mo i Rana, and the same year, she portrayed Rhoda in the world premiere of The Waves by Louis Mander at the Oslo Opera Festival.
She has collaborated with organizations such as the Norden Association, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK), and the Oslo Philharmonic.
Pauline has received grants from the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation, the Sine Butenschøn Fund, and the Norwegian Arts Council, and in 2024, she was awarded the Amalienborg Prize in Kristiansand.
